Dance of the Planets is a solar system sonification composed by Desert Magic. Its an interactive, unfixed digital medium that maps orbital speed to tempo and planetary position to stereo image. Create your own soundscape by activating, deactivating, and randomizing planet rotation in an endless, unpredictable swirl of cosmic polyrhythms.
* the tempo of each planet relates to its orbital speed. i.e. Mercury travels around the sun at 29.4 miles per second and therefore has a tempo of quarter note = 294
